Loryn & Ricky | Engagement Photography

When an old friend of mine Lindsay, contacted me about gifting a Lovebird session to her sister who recently got engaged, I was so excited. I photographed Lindsay back early in my "photography career" when we were both in high school. She was one of my first ever senior portraits. Till this day it's still on her Facebook (which is so fun for me to look back on). If Loryn is anything like her sister, she'd be so fun to photograph and boy did we have a great time!

Loryn & Ricky live up in Deerfield, MA. A place that holds a special spot in my heart since I went to school next to Deerfield. The Berkshires and western MA are an absolute perfect backdrop for any occasion, especially an engagement session. We took photos with their amazing pup, then braved Mt. Sugarloaf,  and then ended the session the same way we end every session in the summer, with ice cream (I know, right?!). We had a blast together and I'm so happy with how these turned out. Clearly Loryn & Ricky are absolutely in love. I hope you all enjoy this little sneak peak into their session together.

Cassandra & Paul | Bittersweet Farm Westport, MA Wedding

As a wedding photographer you pretty much always look forward to your weddings. You get to know the couple over the course of a year with their family and their relationships. It all comes together beautifully in the end. For Cassandra & Paul I enjoyed everything just a little bit more than usual. Cassandra was a referral bride from another client of mine, Tanna. Anytime a bride comes to me from another client, I am instantly more excited than usual. Not only did Tanna send Cassandra my way but Tanna was actually the MOH which made this day even better! To top it all off, Cassandra & Paul got married at one of my favorite venues: Bittersweet Farm

Bittersweet was one of the first ever venues I got to photograph at professionally on one of my first ever weddings (Alice & Josh for those of you who've been around awhile). I absolutely love the farm feel, mixed with the amazing food and beautiful ceremony location. It couldn't be a better place to tie the knot for these two.

Cassandra & Paul - Thank you for allowing me to document your day and spend time with you, your family and your friends. Jenn and I truly had a blast and we can't wait to show you more.

For now, here's a sneak peek!

Molly & Brian | Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, RI Wedding

Every season I tend to walk away from at least one wedding thinking "dang, that was one heck of a night. I had a blast!". As a wedding photographer I attended a lot of weddings. Probably more than anyone will in their whole lifetime will and every single wedding tends to be a boatload of fun. However there is always one each year that rocks my socks off. This year, it happened to be Molly & Brian's wedding.

I met Molly & Brian over a year ago and remembered talking to them and instantly clicking. We hit it off quickly, got to know one another over lunch, Skype calls and more over the past year and finally - Their day had arrived. It felt like just the other day that we were photographing at Colt State Park in the dead of winter for their engagement photos (which turned out awesome by the way! Check them out here). Finally the day arrived, the clouds cleared and their beautiful fall wedding was here. Set up at Mount Hope Farm, they couldn't have asked for a better venue and backdrop. The ceremony location was absolutely draw dropping, the tent right next to the water was so New England and paired well with Molly's childhood memories of sailing with her dad on their boat in Rhode Island. The band, Kahootz absolutely KILLED IT with the entertainment for the night. Nobody left the dance floor. I even got down and dirty at one point (photos below to prove it). I also may have snuck in singing a song or two. Speaking of - Molly is a voice instructor in NYC, which made this wedding 10x better. From vocals from her bff's during the ceremony, to Molly singing a song to Brian and bringing everything to tears, to the surprise speech her sister gave in song, this wedding was clearly a musical in real life, and I loved every second of it.

Enough about these two. Check out their sneak peek below.

Brittany & Tom | Holliston Historical Society Wedding

After 9 years, these two finally tied the knot and I had the absolute honor to photograph their day. Brittany is a my cousin. Growing up, we spent all the holidays together, all the summer days at grandma's pool and all the nights where we designed MySpace templates together. We've seen each other grow up, mature and had each had our fair share in relationship troubles...until she met Tom. Tom is one of the most respectful, down to earth, and kindest people I've ever met. From that moment on, I knew these two would be inseparable. I would have NEVER guessed that I'd be the one to photograph their entire relationship. When they got together back in high school and needed some prom photos, they called me. When I needed a couple's photo for my college portfolio, I called them. 2 years ago when Tom popped the question, Brittany wanted nobody else besides me to be their wedding photographer. Just like Brittany and I watched each other grow up, I saw this couple grow. From prom photos, to a random session a year or two later, to their lovebird session and today...their wedding. This is why I do this. To tell a story. To tell THEIR STORY.

Their day was nothing but fun. I'm not going to lie - Photographing a family member's wedding makes me even more stressed. You know everyone there, there's a ton of pressure on you to nail it even more than usual and you're worried about them judging you! Admit it. However, that being said I had a blast. Knowing everyone there made the day go by so smoothly, being able to be myself instead of being in "work mode" as Jenn calls it, made me less stressed and just being able to be a guest at their wedding too, and not just the hired help was especially nice. I had the best time during the reception. Let's just say there was a certain wedding party member with some awesome dance moves. He fell in love with the tray table at one point (photo below) and maybe even twerked a bit. I was in tears from laughing.

Before we head into their wedding...lets take it back 9 years...to their prom photos!

Ashley & Wale | Crissey Farm Wedding

Ashley & Wale seem like amazing best friends of mine rather than clients. These two are some of the sweetest, kindest and most appreciative people I've ever met. As soon as I met them I couldn't wait to photograph them. From our cold wintery day just over a year ago when we had a blast in their neck of the woods - to just little over a month ago at their wedding where there was a ton of dancing, lots of amazing photos, and lots and lots of laughs. Heck, I even joined them on the dance floor to showcase my awesome two step at one point. That one got a lot of laughs.

Ashley & Wale, thank you for allowing me to photograph your story. I hope you both love these sneak peeks and I can't wait to show you the rest! Thank you so much, out of the bottom of my heart for not only allowing me to photograph this journey of yours, but to become a friend rather than just a wedding vendor.

With love,
Ryan

Alexandra + John | Kinney Bungalow, Narragansett RI Wedding

Planning a wedding is hard work. It takes a lot of time, effort, patience, and love. But planning a wedding when you live about 300 miles away, is even harder. Alex & John both live in Pennsylvania. Even though they would have loved to stay close to their home and celebrate, they wanted all of their family and friends to be with them to celebrate. If you're thinking that an out of state wedding won't work, take a look at how their day went. It was a fricken ball to photograph.

These two were fun, so laid back and perfectly in love. Each of their family & friends we're just as fun...One bridesmaid really KILLED IT on the dance floor and started a dance battle (pictured below, she was also at one point was found bowing down to the bride. I found it pretty hilarious) Seriously though, you all rocked!

I had such a blast meeting you two and capturing your day and I can't wait to talk to you both again. Right now, you should be enjoying some type of alcoholic beverage on the beach in Punta Cana. You two deserve it.

With love,
Ryan

PS. Special thanks to all the amazing vendors for the day!
